How an exhibition of vintage motorsport photographs at Frieze Los Angeles is marking the partnership between Deutsche Bank Wealth Management and 1000 Miglia.

Dubbed “the most beautiful race in the world” by Enzo Ferrari, the 1000 Miglia is one of the most prestigious classic car races, sending a convoy of iconic sports cars through 1,000 miles of gorgeous Italian countryside each May. This year, Deutsche Bank Wealth Management will be the event’s Global Lead Partner for the first time and, to mark the occasion, we are displaying a collection of motorsport photographs in Café No. 5, our exclusive exhibition and refreshment space at Frieze LA, with support from our Art, Culture & Sports department.

The images date back to 1927, when the first 1000 Miglia took place. They include rare snapshots of iconic moments from Italian motorsport, and feature some of the greatest racing drivers of all time, including Giuseppe Farina, Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. The display will be refreshed on each day of the fair (February 15–17), to provide an ever-changing celebration of motorsport’s continual innovation and cutting-edge performance.

All of the photographs on display have been provided by Motorsport Images – one of the world’s largest collections of motorsport and automotive photography in the world, with over 13 million negatives, transparencies, prints and digital images dating from 1895 to the present day.

This year’s 1000 Miglia takes place on May 15–18. To find out more, you can visit the event website here. Or, to see the highlights from last year’s 1000 Miglia, where Deutsche Bank Wealth Management was Trophy Race Sponsor, please see our video review, here.
